Fitterer, Ocean Township soar past Monmouth - Softball recap
Ocean Township busted out the bats in a big way to end its six-game losing streak and pick up a 14-3 victory over Monmouth in Tinton Falls. Emma Fitterer starred for the Spartans at the plate and in the circle during the victory. Fitterer had two hits, two runs scored and drove in three runs for Ocean Township (3-11). The freshman also tossed five full innings and allowed three runs (one earned) on three hits, three walks and a hit batter with three strikeouts.

Maddie Kirchner netted four goals and Brooke Todd added three as Ocean Township outlasted Red Bank Catholic 8-6 in Oakhurst. Emma Bonforte tallied a goal and an assist and Christina Azimov finished with nine saves for Ocean Township (5-6), which scored two goals in the fourth period to break a 6-6 deadlock.
