If You Can’t Beat ’Em
I have been a proponent of alternative energy sources ever since Jimmy Carter told us to turn off our lights. I was just in the wrong business. So I became a squeaky wheel, irritating people like Schreiber.

New battery storage project proposed for Topeka area
Deriva Energ y is exploring the potential of developing an energy storage project in Shawnee County. The company held an open house forum on the evening of Sept. 30 at the Shawnee Yacht Club, 3720 SE Yacht Court. Five Shawnee County residents were present, three of whom were members of the Topeka-Shawnee County League of Women Voters. Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, Deriva is a portfolio company of Brookfield, formerly known as Duke Energy Renewables, The company said it is one of the world's largest owners and operators of renewable power and climate transition assets. The company holds 5,900 megawatts of operating and under construction wind, utility scale solar and storage assets across the United States. Why propose an energy storage unit in Tecumseh?
