Reckless Gun Discharges Prompt Arrest of Two at Valdosta Apartment Complex
LOWNDES COUNTY, Georgia – A Valdosta Police Department (VPD) Officer heard several gunshots in the area of the 1500 block of East Park Avenue on Tuesday, May 7th at about 12:20 p.m. Numerous citizens called E911 to report that people had been shooting a rifle and a handgun, while in an apartment complex. Callers, who were eye witnesses, gave a description of the vehicle that the guns were being discharged while it was in the apartment complex. VPD Officers responded to the area immediately.

Valdosta Teen Arrested for Theft of Running Vehicle
LOWNDES COUNTY, Georgia – Chief Leslie Manahan has reported that Valdosta Police Department (VPD) Officers responded to the area of the 1000 block of North Toombs Street on Monday, May 13th at approximately 2:15 a.m. Officers responded after a citizen called E911 to report that her vehicle had been stolen and she was following it. The citizen reported that she had left her vehicle running, while she ran inside a retail store. The store was located in the 1400 block of North Troup Street. The female citizen indicated that she was briefly inside, when an unknown person, soon after identified as Jayleen Scott (17) of Valdosta, got into the driver’s seat and left the area in her vehicle. While driving the stolen vehicle, Scott struck a couple of other vehicles and mailboxes.
