RANDOLPH, NJ- The Randolph boys lacrosse team earned their sixth victory of the season when they ran circles around West Essex at DaSilva field on Tuesday, April 30. After a sluggish start for the Rams gave the visiting Knights some hope with a 3-2 lead after one quarter, Randolph took complete and total control from there to run away with a 17-6 win. The Rams dominated the faceoff circle, which helped them control the possession game, as Jordan Raport won 16 of 22, while Josh Grannum won 4 out of 4.  Randolph took advantage of the Knights overplaying on defense twice in the second quarter.  With the goalie pushing too far up the field, Jake Weiner smartly found an opening behind the defense deep in the offensive zone.  Thomas Doto found Weiner with a long pass both times, and the Rams captain easily scored into a half-open net.

After securing a 6-4 halftime lead, the second half was all Rams, as they took charge in the third with a 6-1 margin, before pouring it on more in the fourth by a 5-0 margin for the final score of 17-6.  Doto led the way with five goals, while Weiner and Elliott McLendon scored three.  Mark Manolis and Vincent Tallman scored twice, while Everett Palumbo and Drew George each scored one. Ryan Potanovich made 8 saves in net, while Matt DeVos made 2 saves.
