A restaurant dedicated to decadence and comfort food will open next month in Raleigh.

The fast casual chain I Heart Mac & Cheese will open its first Raleigh location in the Quail Corners Shopping Center , at the corner of Millbrook and Falls of Neuse roads. The grand opening is June 4.

Macaroni and cheese is a Southern staple at potlucks and supper tables, and many Triangle restaurants have riffs and versions of their own — the most famous being Poole’s Diner’s Macaroni au Gratin.

This will be the third I Heart Mac & Cheese to open in North Carolina, following locations in Matthews and Clayton. Two more are on the way in Gastonia and Greenville.

The franchise owner of the Raleigh I Heart Mac & Cheese is Adonis Blue, a former teacher and principal in Raleigh and Durham schools. Blue formerly worked in restaurants in the Northeast.

“I am impressed by the I Heart Mac & Cheese concept, that it is family-oriented and serves delicious southern food,” Blue said in a press release.

The brand’s menu is cheese-centric, including classic and specialty bowls of mac and cheese including lobster, chickcen parmesan and short rib cheesesteak.

There are also grilled cheese sandwiches, tater tots and fried balls of mac and cheese.

The first 25 diners at Raleigh’s grand opening will be given a free year’s worth of mac and cheese.
