BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Members of the Raleigh County Commission came together recently for the Regular Session meeting of the commission at which a number of potential grants were presented for consideration.

Among these was consideration of a security grant application for the Raleigh County Judicial Annex which would serve to facilitate an upgrade of the annex’s current security camera system.

The grant consideration was presented for the amount of $84,000 which would go toward a modernization of the technology currently in use by the county courthouse system, which was purportedly implemented over a decade prior.

“The cameras at the judicial annex are 2012 technology, so we really need to upgrade to current standards,” said Commissioner Greg Duckworth during the session. “This particular grant is for $84,000, and it’s to continue installing cameras and get a camera system at the judicial annex, and it’s with the West Virginia Division of Administrative Services, Justice and Community Services.”

A motion for approval of the $84,000 grant among commission members was seconded and the motion ultimately saw passage through the Raleigh County Commission during the session.
