UPDATE: Assistant city manager, city attorney leave Longview
Longview is paying Assistant City Manager Ann Rivers and City Attorney Dana Gigler at least $100,000 combined to stop working for the city. Gigler and Rivers have agreed to buyout and separation agreements sent to them in the last two weeks by interim City Manager Jim Duscha. Gigler signed her agreement May 9 and will take effect on May 30, according to city records obtained through a public records request. Rivers’ agreement was signed Monday and took effect immediately.
Triumphant Return: CMHS Science Fair back in action
With 159 exhibits and nearly 300 in attendance, the Clatskanie Middle/High School (CMHS) Science Fair, dormant since Covid, came springing back to life on May 15. Columbia Pacific Food Bank receives check to help battle area hunger
Through the assistance of InRoads Credit Union, the Columbia Pacific Food Bank in St. Helens has been presented with a donation of $2,176 to help with a growing need for food assistance in Columbia County. InRoads Credit Union held a food drive April 22, through May 3 across its three branches in Scappoose, St. Helens and Rainier.
