Watch: A Texas Tow Truck Driver Tried To Pull A Flooded Sedan To Safety. He Flipped It On Its Side Instead.
A tow truck driver in Texas attempted to pull a flooded sedan to safety, but instead flipped it on its side due to the physics of towing in floodwater. Highway 59 in Marshall, Texas isn't built for boats, but Monday afternoon it briefly worked like one. A fast, heavy band of storms parked over Harrison County and dropped enough rain to turn a stretch of the highway into waist-deep water, stranding cars and pulling tow trucks into a recovery job that turned into its own disaster. Videographer Joey Starr caught the whole thing on camera, and the footage is now a pretty good case study in how not to pull a car out of a flooded roadway.

Hot and Humid this Week
East Texas (KLTV/KTRE) - Good evening, East Texas! Expect partly cloudy skies through the evening, becoming mostly cloudy overnight with temperatures falling into the upper 70s by daybreak. A few showers and isolated thunderstorms will be possible early Monday as a front stalls just to our north near the Red River. This stationary boundary will keep at least slight chances for rain in the forecast through midweek, mainly for areas north of I-20. Chances for rain quickly dwindle by the latter half of the week as we continue to see summer-like heat and humidity each day. Expect high temperatures to climb into the mid to upper 90s each afternoon under partly to mostly sunny skies, along with heat indices near or above triple digits.
