Vehicle fire breaks out in parking lot off Airport Road
EASTON — A vehicle fire broke out in the parking lot of Technology Commons at 2900 Information Ln. Friday afternoon. Easton Volunteer Fire Department, St. Michaels Fire Department, Cordova Volunteer Fire Company, Talbot County Emergency Services and the Easton Police Department were all on the scene. Paramedics with Talbot County Emergency Services said they were dispatched to the fire at 2:24 p.m. The vehicle was a Magothy Electric Company van. The fire was extinguished at about 2:45 p.m. On the scene, the department put down absorbent to prevent the spread of fuel from the vehicle.

Letter to Editor: Pay Attention to Maryland’s 3rd District
Though unrelated to Spy territory, the race for the Democratic nomination in the 3rd Congressional District has intrigued this Annapolis expat. I’ll explain. An oddly configured district currently represented by the retiring John Sarbanes, it includes all of Howard County and parts of Anne Arundel (including Annapolis) and Carroll counties. Twenty-two candidates are seeking the Democratic nomination. The two leading contenders are State Sen. Sarah Elfreth and Harry Dunn, a retired Capitol police officer who defended the U.S. Capitol against insurrectionists on Jan. 6, 2021.
