Queen Creek School celebrates 'A+'

Faith Mather Sossaman Elementary in the Queen Creek Unified School District is celebrating its designation as an A+ School of Excellence.

While the school received its A+ in February, students were celebrating the accomplishment on Tuesday.

Students were out in force for the celebration, according to a post on QCUSD's Facebook page.

Students and teacher were joined by QCUSD Superintendent Perry Berry during the fesitvities.

An A+ School of Excellence is the highest state-level award granted by the Arizona Educational Foundation.

Faith Mather Sossaman is one of 37 schools across the state to earn the recognition this year. It comes after an extensive application process that involves submitting a written application. The application is reviewed by a panel of A+ principals, teachers and district leaders. If an application is accepted, judges then conduct a multiday site visit.
