A 37-year-old man who was killed the night of May 18 after he crashed into the rear of an SUV in the Puyallup area has been identified, according to the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The man died at the scene, Pierce County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Darren Moss told The News Tribune.

About 9:25 p.m., Christopher Grady of Spanaway was headed north on Canyon Road East at 144th Street East in the Puyallup area.

Moss, citing witness information, said the man was traveling at speeds between 80-100 miles per hour when he crashed into the vehicle.

Grady died as a result of multiple blunt force injuries, according to the ME’s office.

The SUV driver was doing about 40 miles per hour at impact, Moss said. The driver heard a loud noise and jerked forward, but no injuries were reported, he said.

Another witness also reported that after the crash the motorcyclist was run over by a vehicle that left the scene, Moss said.
