PUNTA GORDA — Recently the Faith Quilters of Faith Lutheran Church in Punta Gorda donated 48 quilts to the Charlotte County Homeless Coalition for the residents at the shelter.

An assortment of children’s, women’s and men’s style quilts were donated. The quilters hope that the quilts will be a positive addition to their lives.

The members of the Faith Quilters have been making quilts by hand and donating them to local charities for years.

Last spring, the group made and donated 50 baby quilts and afghans to Charlotte County Healthy Starts, which distributed them during their drive-through baby shower. The Guardian ad Litem program received nearly 40 quilts and fleece blankets for the children in their care, along with 22 “comfort bears.”

In the group also donated quilts to the Homeless Coalition in November.
