The Gritzmaker expected to reopen under new ownership in Zeeland
The Gritzmaker has temporarily closed, but the restaurant will soon reopen under new management and ownership after a brief remodel. That's according to original owner Scott Ingersoll, who shared the information in a message with The Sentinel on Oct. 9. He was unable to provide additional information. A sign has been posted in the window of the restaurant at 120 E. Main Ave. The Gritzmaker opened in 2024 . Ingersoll was also the owner of Mill Creek Tavern in Comstock Park and helped open The Win Tavern 33 and Bird Dogs in Jenison. Mill Creek Tavern is currently closed. According to previous reporting from WOOD TV-8, the property was forfeited to the Kent County Treasurer’s Office due to unpaid taxes in March. Ingersoll had until March 2027 to bay the balance or face foreclosure. That restaurant, according to Ingersoll, has been sold to another business owner in Grand Rapids. — Contact reporter Austin Metz at ametz@hollandsentinel.com . The restaurant adds even more personality with a barrel-shaped entrance, an open kitchen, and topping combinations that go well beyond the usual pepperoni order.
