How prevalent is violence in RI's nursing homes?

    By Will Richmond, Providence Journal,

Good morning, I'm Will Richmond at The Providence Journal and this is the Daily Briefing.

For many families, Rhode Island's nursing homes are the final residence for loved ones.

Along with placing their trust in the staff and facility itself, many must live with roommates, people they've never met before and are suddenly entwined in their lives. Sometimes the worst case scenario plays out.

Following the tragic death of a resident in a Warren nursing home in August 2023, Journal reporter Antonia Farzan reviewed hundreds of pages of documents to learn more about resident-on-resident violence in the state's nursing homes.

If you're looking for something closer to home, Gail has the details on the latest offering from the Industrious Spirit Company. Think a gin that tastes like the sea.
