NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) — Police arrested a Providence man Tuesday after he reportedly threatened to put a bomb in his former supervisor’s car.

Ramon Pica, 42, has been charged with making a false bomb threat.

Pica is accused of calling Taylor Farms in North Kingstown, identifying himself as a past employee and threatening to put a bomb inside the supervisor’s car before hanging up.

Police rushed to the food processing facility with bomb detection K-9s and immediately began searching the premises for explosives. The sweep came up empty and there is no threat to public safety.

Investigators were able to trace the call back to Pica, who was taken into custody without incident.
