ABILENE, Texas (BCH Sports) – Four Wylie Bulldogs are headed down to San Antonio this week to play for the Class 5A mixed doubles state championship. We start with the team of senior Trevor Short and freshman Hope Willis. The pair teamed up to roll to the regional title. This is Short’s second time to advance to the state tournament in the spring, and he is doing what he can to get Willis ready for her first trip to state.

McKINNEY – Over the course of the season, Frisco Wakeland head softball coach Alyson Frare has seen her Lady Wolverines bounce back from a shutout loss with a dominant win. Last week in the Region II-5A quarterfinals, Wakeland regrouped after a 2-0 setback to District 9-5A rival Frisco Reedy in Game 2 and earned a 7-2 victory against the Lions the following day in Game 3 to lock up their first appearance in the regional semifinals since 2012.
