Three people — including the two incumbents — have filed so far for the two seats on the Sherburne County Board of Commissioners that are up for election this year.

Incumbent Lisa Fobbe and Brad Schumacher have both filed in District 5 and incumbent Andrew Hulse has filed in District 1 as of May 22, according to County Auditor-Treasurer Diane Arnold.

Schumacher is from Baldwin Township and Fobbe is from Princeton. Hulse is from Elk River.

The filing period for people interested in running for the seats opened May 21 and closes at 5 p.m. June 4. Filing is done at the Sherburne County Auditor-Treasurer’s Office, 13880 Business Center Dr., Elk River, during regular office hours. The office is closed Memorial Day.

District 5 includes Zimmerman, Baldwin Township, most of Livonia Township and that part of the city of Princeton that is in Sherburne County. Fobbe was first elected to the County Board in 2016, reelected in 2020 and is seeking her third term.

District 1 encompasses approximately the southern half of Elk River. Hulse was elected to represent District 1 in 2022.

There are five commissioners on the Sherburne County Board. Only the District 1 and 5 seats are up for election in 2024.
