    Two dead in Princeton house explosion

    UPDATE: (12:59 p.m.)

    Two people and a dog were killed in an overnight Princeton house explosion.

    The Mille Lacs County Sheriff's Office said it happened at 3:54 a.m. on the 8200 block of 85th Avenue. Deputies found the house and a large debris field on the 8200 block of 52nd Street, still on fire.

    Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames. First responders found two victims in the debris and were pronounced dead. They have been identified as 60-year-old Royce Edward Kreger Jr. and 61-year-old Katherine Ann Kreger.

    A family dog was also found dead.

    The Minnesota Fire Marshal's Office is at the scene to investigate what caused the explosion.

    Police are investigating an apparent house explosion that happened in Princeton overnight.

    Mille Lacs County Chief Deputy Aaron Evenson tells Bring Me The News the explosion was reported at a home on the 8200 block of 52nd Street just before 4 a.m.

    Deputies arrived at the single-family home to find a large debris field, some of which was on fire.

    The house was occupied at the time, but no information has been provided regarding the condition of anyone inside.

    It has been confirmed, however, that a dog was killed in the explosion, which is now under investigation.

    More information is expected to be provided sometime later Tuesday.

    The explosion and fire is under investigation.
