HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT)- While most of the Tri-State is waking up to a wet morning, last night’s storms came and went without much structural damage.

Of course, there were areas that were effected, particularly the power grid. At one point Duke Energy reported more than 4,000 customers in Princeton were without power, but power was restored for most of the area by late last night. Centerpoint Energy is reporting just over 100 customers without power at the moment as crews are working to get everyone back online. WIN Energy shows a number of outages in Gibson County as well.

In Evansville, there are a few areas that drivers may want to avoid. Dispatchers say that the Virginia Street viaduct is currently barricaded due to high water, and will likely remain closed until later this morning. A driver ended up stuck in the water in the area, and was able to get to safety on their own, but their vehicle was unable to be retrieved by a tow truck due to the high water. Eyewitness News is also told that traffic signals are not working at Barker and Ray Becker along with standing water underneath the railroad overpass in the area.

In Wayne County, Illinois the Sheriff’s office posted a photo showing debris blocking Highway 45 near County Road 620 North, just south of Fairfield. Officials there say there were no injuries reported, and that crews have been working through the night to clear the debris.
