MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Hopefully you were able to get some rain yesterday. I know some spots saw a lot of it and others got little or none. The storms we’ve seen so far this morning are mostly east of I-65 and will die off later this morning. Rain/storms will be harder to find the rest of the week and into the weekend with hotter afternoon temperatures moving in.
Mobile’s unemployment rate – the highest in Alabama – increases in 2024
Even as the Port City’s economic engine drives job growth, Mobile continues to have the highest unemployment rate of all metro areas in Alabama. Mobile County’s unemployment rate was 4.4% in February, according to the most recent data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Though that’s a slight dip from 4.5% in January, it’s a spike from the previous year when the rate was 3.1%.
