Smith County celebrates downtown parking garage with topping off ceremony
TYLER, Texas — Officials celebrated a major milestone on Monday for the Smith County parking garage project being built in downtown Tyler. Smith County leaders, representatives from Hoar Construction, SCI Construction and Fitzpatrick Architects and employees signed the 4,000-pound piece of concrete before it was placed on top of the garage by a 212-foot crane. Remains found last week in Smith County ditch identified as Tyler man last seen in April
TYLER, Texas — Human remains that were found near FM 346 between Troup and Whitehouse last week have been identified as Jose Alejandro “Alex” Perez. Perez, 44, was last seen around 9 p.m. on April 26, at the Towne Oaks Apartments in Tyler. Three days later, police found Perez's vehicle at the Autumn Glen Apartments off Hollytree Drive, just a couple of streets from where he was last seen.
