Lady Hawk rally falls short in bracket busting attempt
The odds were stacked against the Hiawatha Lady Red Hawks coming into Tuesday’s Regional opener against Sabetha, as the 8th-seeded Hawks, with just one win on the season, took on the top-seeded Bluejays and their 18 wins. Hiawatha overcame a rocky start to push the Jays late in the game, but they did not have enough in the tank to pull off the upset and saw their season end in a 7-4 loss.
