POWELL, Ohio ( WCMH ) – A central Ohio eighth grader received a national recognition this week.

Olentangy Liberty middle schooler Ben Kurian won second prize in C-SPAN and Spectrum’s documentary contest. Kurian’s theme was “Who Do I Want To Be,” focusing on questions young people have about their future careers.

His video was also recognized as a fan favorite, getting more than 22,000 votes cast by the public.

Kurian said his theme was inspired by young people trying to find a path in life and not always connecting with their education.

Kurian certainly put the work into his video, saying he spent 10-hour days on it.
