UPD: Two new Ukiah officers graduate from academy
The Ukiah Police Department announced this week that two new officers recently graduated from the Police Academy in Santa Rosa. UPD Chief Cedric Crook said that both Officer Chris Ballestrazze and Officer Ryan Michel graduated from the 212th Police Academy in Santa Rosa on Thursday, and that they will start their field training next week. He noted that both Ballestrazze and Michel hail from Sonoma County.
CHP: Redwood Valley woman killed in crash on Highway 253
A Redwood Valley woman was killed this week when her car drove off Highway 253 and hit a tree, the California Highway Patrol reported. According to the CHP, the driver of a 2010 Honda Civic — who was identified as Erica Gonzalez, 37, of Redwood Valley — was heading eastbound on Hwy 253 sometime between 3 p.m. Nov. 27 and 2 a.m. Nov. 28 when her vehicle left the roadway.
Mariposa Murder Suspect Apprehended: Local Law Enforcement's Collaborative Effort Leads to Arrest
California's Attorney General, Rob Bonta, announced the arrest of murder suspect Justin Bolton. Bolton is implicated in the death of Wendy Pullins in Mariposa, California. Investigators located him on November 9, 2023, in Willits, California. Pullins, reported missing in 2022, had her case reclassified as a homicide in 2023.
