PISD board votes in favor of officers
At the regular meeting of the Pleasanton School Board, reorganization of the officers of the Board of Trustees remain the same after board members voted in favor. Patrick Hurley moved to keep the officers as they were. Robert Serna, Jr. seconded the motion, which passed unanimously with Blasa Chapa, Ralph Unger and Loren Gillespie voting in favor. Pete Pawelek was not present.
PLEASANTON OFFICERS RECEIVE MERIT AWARDS
Pleasanton police were recognized and handed Merit Awards for their brave and effective response to a dangerous situation on Feb. 26. Those involved in the incident were Lt. Kai Viesca, Lt. Jordan Haren, Sgt. Ricardo Olveda, Det. Gabriel Garza, Det. Chris Treviño, Officer Juan Rios, Officer Reba Valdez, 81st DA Investigator Daniel Kaufman, Dispatcher Samantha Trevino, Asst. Chief Anastacio Perez and Captain Smitty Gonzales. Missing for the presentation was Officer Alyssa Sanchez.

Kotzur to compete at national United States Emissary Pageant
Jennifer Leeann Kotzur, 36, from Stockdale, formerly of Karnes County, has been selected by the Emissary Pageants International Congress as a State Delegate to represent the state of Texas. The newly crowned Ms. Texas Emissary, the daughter of John and Charlotte Kotzur, has received the official state crown and banner and an invitation to compete at the national United States Emissary Pageant to be held in San Antonio at the Marriott San Antonio Airport May 24-27. She has the chance to represent the great state of Texas for the entire year.

St. Andrew celebrates 75 years
Parishioners at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Pleasanton gathered for a special Mass on May 12, as part of their 75th Anniversary Celebration. Father Ian Robbins, pastor of St. Andrew welcomed Archbishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller. Afterwards, everyone gathered in front of the church as a drone captured a panoramic photo. Boerne’s explosive third inning propels Greyhounds past Bishop to open regional semifinals
JOURDANTON, Texas – The Boerne baseball team (30-9) defeated Bishop 13-3 in the Class 4A Region IV semifinals on Thursday in Jourdanton. The Greyhounds’ heavy hitters exploded for a seven-run third inning, highlighted by a Hutson Hendrix three-run home run, to take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three playoff series.

Baseball Recap: Tidehaven has no trouble against Poth
