ATASCOSA DAR CELEBRATES WASHINGTON’S BIRTHDAY
Seven members of the Atascosa Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) attended the Washington’s Birthday Luncheon of the San Antonio Area Regents Council held at Pompeii Italian Grill on Feb. 17 in San Antonio. Monica Pesek, First Vice Regent with the James McHenry Chapter presented the program, “Lafayette’s 1824-1825 visit and his connection to Washington dependents.” Pictured from left are: Nancy Miller, Chaplain; Sandy Barsun, Past Chapter Regent; Deborah Mills, Chapter Regent; Camilla Mitchell, Librarian; Linda Boudreau, American Indians Chair and Annette Hoelscher, the Flag of the USA and Insignia Chair. Mayor’s Message – Pleasanton
I hope you are all having a great week. In May I will have collectively served 13 years on the Pleasanton City Council. In 2008 I was appointed as council member for District 3. In May 2011 I was appointed mayor. To put it in perspective, when I first started serving on tha council my son was eight and my daughter was five. my son is now 24 and daughter is 21. Being on the city council has been an eyeopening experience. It has been an education to say the least.
Eagles tune up for postseason
Pleasanton knows what it will take to go a few rounds deep in the playoffs this year. After last season’s trip to the regional quarterfinals, the Eagles (27-4) are seeking another push and played four games in a span of six days as a final tune-up for the postseason.
