Second victim says he was targeted in the shooting rampage that started in a Lubbock Game Room
SLATON, Texas – 35-year-old Codie Payne survived an attack on his life after he was shot by 49-year-old Jamie Pruett at an Allsups in Slaton. Payne said he was targeted by Pruett after he had a falling out with the suspected shooter. Payne was a former employee of Pruett, working around his mechanic shop when he started noticing several red flags.

Molly Vardeman and her mother Lacy are involved in Vardeman Farms and Cotter Key Farms. They manage cotton, wheat, cattle and other cover crops. Both of them have a hand in the operation on different sides.
Wildcats rally back to slay tigers, 9-7
The Littlefield Wildcats’ varsity baseball team rallied past the Slaton Tigers last Tuesday night, 9-7, to take the home non-district match-up. CJ Anzley got the Tigers going in the top of the first inning, with a lead- off double over Isaiah Rodriguez at second base, that got past Elijah Salazar in right field. Jakob Garcia was thrown out at first by Brenden Bowman, on a dropped third strike, as Anzley moved over to third with one out.

Sheriff: 4 shot in south Lubbock, Slaton Monday
Four people were injured Monday afternoon in a series of shootings officials say are connected to a game room in south Lubbock. The Lubbock County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of shots fired at 9103 Ave. P, a game room, about 4:45 Monday afternoon. Two shooting victims located at that scene were taken to a local hospital by EMS, and deputies later learned a third shooting victim from that location was driven to the hospital in a private vehicle before first responders arrived.

They allow their employees to work extra hours Monday-Thursday and then give them Fridays off.
