Avista crews to begin multi-year construction project in Post Falls

POST FALLS, ID. - Starting May 1, Avista will begin closures for a multi-year project focused on rehabilitating the spillway for the Post Falls North Channel Dam located on the Spokane River.

The project is expected to be completed in 2027.

Avista says the Falls Park parking lot will be used to store construction materials and will be closed to the public through the duration of the project.

The boardwalk and one of the three dam overlooks at the park will also be closed for construction.

Crews will install signs and directions throughout the park.

Most of the trails throughout the park will remain open, as well as the bathroom, fishing pond and playground.

In addition, Avista says water levels at Coeur d'Alene likely won't be impacted by this project.
