Kootenai County deputy, K9 in car crash near Post Falls

POST FALLS, ID. -- A Kootenai County Sheriff's Office deputy was injured in a car crash north of Post Falls Wednesday morning.

According to KCSO, the deputy and a K9 were driving around 6:30 a.m. and crashed into another vehicle at the intersection of Bodine Avenue and McGuire Road. KCSO says the crash sent the patrol vehicle into a nearby power pole.

The deputy was taken the hospital with minor injuries. The K9 was taken to a veterinarian but was uninjured. KCSO did not provide details on the occupants of the other involved vehicle.

Idaho State Police is investigating.
