    Record heat forecast for the Willamette Valley Friday

    PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — The spring heat could break temperature records in Northwest Oregon, Southwest Washington and throughout the Willamette Valley Friday.

    Portland, Vancouver, Hillsboro, Troutdale, McMinnville, Salem and Eugene are all expected to break or tie temperature records Friday. Portland is forecast for a high of 90 degrees, which would break the May 10 temperature of 89 degrees set in 2019.

    Best places near Portland to catch the Northern Lights

    KOIN 6 Meteorologist Kelley Bayern forecasts that the hottest temperatures will peak between 2 and 6 p.m. Another warm day is forecast for Saturday.

    “Temps will cool slightly on Saturday, so a lesser chance for records on Saturday,” Bayern said. “But we’ll be near them in the mid-upper 80s for most of these areas.”
