A 31-year-old woman has been arrested and faces kidnapping charges in connection to a 5-year-old boy who was abducted last night before being safely recovered by law enforcement.

LeeAnne N. Osborne is being held at the Multnomah County Detention Center for second-degree kidnapping after allegedly taking Tra’Veon Lewis from his home in the Centennial Neighborhood.

The missing child was first reported at 8 p.m. Thursday, May 2, after he disappeared from a home at Southeast 151st Avenue and Southeast Stark Street. Witnesses and security footage showed him being led away by an unknown suspect, later identified as Osborne, at 2:30 p.m.

Portland Police officers began canvassing Southeast Portland looking for the boy. A timeline of sightings was established:

5:30 p.m.: Lewis and Osborne were seen at a gas station near Southeast 148th Avenue and Southeast Stark Street7:25 p.m.: The pair board a TriMet bus and ride to Southeast 174th Avenue and Southeast Powell Boulevard7:53 p.m.: The pair board another bus and ride to 174th and Powell Boulevard8:18 p.m.: The pair are spotted walking near 122nd and Division

It was just before 7 a.m. Friday, May 3, that an alert community member called 911 after spotting Lewis and Osborne walking near 151st Avenue and Mill Street. Portland officers arrived to take Lewis into protective custody and Osborne into custody.

Other than frequenting the area around his home and occasionally seeing Lewis outside playing, detectives have been unable to find any connection between the two.

The case remains active. If you have any information, contact Detective Brian Sims at brian.sims@police.portlandoregon.gov or 503-823-2079 and reference case number 24-108685.
