PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — A weakening front will drop temperatures Wednesday and increase the cloud coverage over the Portland-Vancouver metro area.

Afternoon temperatures will remain above average with highs climbing into the mid to upper 60s during the afternoon hours, a nearly 10-degree temperature hit in 24 hours. Cloudier skies and a few coastal showers will make it feel more like the month of April.

Willamette Valley skies will likely stay dry Wednesday, but that changes as a stronger front enters Oregon and Washington Thursday. That front will bring moderate to heavy, widespread rain showers back to the region through the end of the month.

Temperatures will continue to fall with Thursday’s front with daytime highs struggling to warm beyond the upper 50s. Very little impacts are expected to be felt with early morning lows remaining in the low 50s through the end of the week.

Rainy moments will take the Portland-Vancouver metro area through the end of the day Friday, but scattered rain showers and dry pockets remain through the weekend. Slightly warmer conditions return next week as highs climb into the low 60s, but rain chances remain.
