Bullet-riddled car in SE Portland leaves 1 dead, 1 wounded

PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — A white, bullet-riddled car in Southeast Portland was the scene that left one man dead and a woman wounded Monday afternoon.

The shooting, about an hour after another death investigation in Northeast Portland, was in the area near the DMV at SE Powell and 86th. A KOIN 6 News crew spotted a body outside that car with a sheet over it.

Officials said the man died at the scene. The woman was taken to an area hospital for treatment but is expected to recover.

Portland Fire & Rescue officials told KOIN 6 News they were called to the scene to help with two gunshot victims, one who had been shot in the head and the other in the foot.

Shell casings and evidence markers are clearly visible in the area where dozens of police officers are conducting the initial investigation. Southeast Powell is closed between SE 82nd and 92nd Avenue during the crime scene investigation.
