A warrant has been issued for an Ashland High School student who failed to appear in court Tuesday for a plea hearing and sentencing on charges of possession of THC and possession of a dangerous weapon on school grounds. Two Harbors Residents Get A Look At Hwy 61 Aesthetics
Last week, Josie Olson, MNDOT Project Manager for the Highway 61 Project, brought a design team to town for a show and tell session on some of the aesthetic aspects that are on the drawing board for the Highway 61 reconstruction project. The actual reconstruction work is scheduled for 2027 – 28. Around 30 residents met with the design team at the Two Harbors Library last week to look at renderings and talk about visual quality of the project. On hand to talk specifics about the aesthetics of the project were Pippi Mayfield, Communications Director for MNDOT and landscape architects from LHB Inc. out of Duluth.
Two Hayward residents face more than 40 charges connected to series of burglaries
Two people from Hayward are facing a total of 44 charges of theft, burglary and damage to property in Bayfield County. Authorities say Logan M. Melton, 22, and Melissa Thorp, 37, who live together, stole two cars, a boat, firearms, an ATV, bikes and other items as part of a string of burglaries between March and July 2023.
