    U.S. News & World Report puts Port St. Lucie in top 100 places to live in U.S. for 2024-2025

    PORT ST. LUCIE — The city ranked No. 83 on the best places to live in the United States, according to the 2024-2025 U.S. News & World Report best places to live ranking.

    Port St. Lucie dropped 20 spots, from No. 63, on last year's list. It was the only Treasure Coast city ranked this year.

    Here are statistics about Port St. Lucie from the study:

    • Metro Population: 220,637
    • Median Home Price: $293,943
    • Median Monthly Rent: $1,736
    • Median Age: 46
    • Median Household Income: $75,874
    • Unemployment Rate: 5.74%

    "New residents may notice that groceries and dining out are slightly more expensive here than in some parts of central and northern Florida, although living here is less expensive than some other Florida cities such as Miami," according to U.S. News & World Report.

    For its rankings, the publication considered quality of Life, value, job market and desirability. U.S. World & News data used in the report included statistics from the U.S. Census Bureau, FBI, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Sharecare, Federal Emergency Management Agency, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and other internal sources.

    Which cities in Florida ranked best to live in?

    U.S. News & World Report also released its best places to live in Florida ranking. Naples clinched No. 1 for the best place to live in the U.S. and in Florida this year.

    In the 2023-2024 rankings, Port St. Lucie clinched the No. 10 spot for best places to live in the state. This year, it dipped two spots to No. 12.

    2. Tampa
    3. Melbourne
    4. Ocala
    5. Lakeland
    6. Port St. Lucie
    7. Daytona Beach
    8. Miami
