POPLAR GROVE, Ill. — Cami Carter tossed a 1-hitter with 10 strikeouts as North Boone improved to 18-3 overall with a 12-0 rout of Oregon in five innings on Thursday.

Carter did not issue a walk as she dominated the visitors. The only hit off her was Olivia’s Paul’s second-inning single.

The senior pitcher also provided all the offense she needed when she blasted a two-run home run in the first inning. Marlee Alderman also doubled in a run in the inning.

North Boone tacked on five runs in the second, three in the third and a solo run in the fourth to win by the 10-run mercy rule.

The Vikings’ 13-hit attack was led by Sydney Goodman with a 3-for-4 day that included a double, two runs scored and an RBI.

Carter was 2-for-4 with a run scored and three RBI. Avarie Torres was 2-for-2 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Alderman was also 2-for-2 with two doubles and an RBI and Lauren Stefek was 1-for-3 with a homer, two runs scored and three RBIs.

    • BELOIT MEMORIAL 14, WILMOT 4: The Purple Knights’ bats were both hot and consistent as they scored in six out of the seven innings in a strong win over the Panthers in Southern Lakes Conference action.

Rilynne Cleland and Brooklynne Hereford-Foster both had three hits for visiting Beloit (7-6, 4-4 SLC) while Jasmine Smith and Allie Gustafson added two apiece.

A four-run sixth from the Knights included a solo homer from Gustafson and a three-run double from Hereford-Foster, who finished with a pair of two-baggers.

Cleland was strong from the circle as she finished four innings with just an earned run on four hits. Delayna Hyser came on in relief and struck out four Wilmot (3-11, 1-8) batters while allowing three earned runs on five hits in three innings.

    • BELOIT TURNER 7, CLINTON 0: The Trojans avenged an 8-6 loss at the hands of the Cougars from Monday as a trio of pitchers delivered a shutout in RVC Rock play.

Maddyn Saunders earned the win as she didn’t allow a hit and struck out two in three innings. Jayden Pozzani then threw two scoreless innings while allowing just two hits and Lauryn Wells finished the final two frames while allowing a hit and keeping hosting Clinton (4-9, 4-6) off the board.

Kamdyn Davis delivered a two-run homer in the first as she finished 2-for-4 with two runs while Sammi Schleis, Emma Bue and Autumn Meris contributed two hits to Turner’s (6-5, 5-4) 11-hit performance.

The Cougars’ Ashley Theisen was charged with seven runs (six earned) on 11 hits in the complete game performance. She struck out 14 batters as Clinton’s offense was limited to three hits.

PALMYRA-EAGLE 8, PARKVIEW 2: The Panthers took a 6-0 lead after the second inning and never looked back, cruising to a Trailways-South Conference victory.

Sophomore Brooklyn West hit an RBI single in the first, scoring junior Presley Koss. After sophomore Briahna Covarrubias scored on a fielder’s choice from senior Maddie Koutsky, sophomore Ashlin Adsit hit a two-run single, scoring Koutsky and sophomore Sophia Lean.

In the second, Koss scored on a passed ball and Covarrubias scored on a sacrifice fly out from Lean.

Palmyra-Eagle (10-11, 7-6) also scored two runs in the fifth when Adsit scored Lean on an RBI groundout and senior Ella Rupinski hit an RBI single to score junior Cassidy Taylor.

For Parkview, freshman Abby Farnsworth reached on fielder’s choice in the fourth that scored senior Joey Meyers. Later in the inning, Farnsworth scored on a bunt from freshman McKenna Phillips.

Offense would be hard to come by for the Vikings as Palmyra-Eagle junior pitcher Teagan Koutsky pitched four innings and allowed two unearned runs in a win.

Koutsky recorded 10 strikeouts, allowed three hits and issued zero walks. In relief, Lean pitched three innings and recorded four strikeouts.

Palmyra-Eagle (10-11, 7-6) is fourth in the Trailways-South Conference standings, while Parkview (4-9, 4-8) is sixth. The Vikings travel to Johnson Creek on Friday, while the Panthers face Elkhorn at home on Monday.

    • BASEBALL: EVANSVILLE 3, BRODHEAD/JUDA 2: Wyatt Nelson broke a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring single to lead the host Blue Devils to victory.

Both of the Cardinals’ runs came via a single by Max Pinnow in the second inning. Evansville relief pitcher Caleb Bakken kept Brodhead/Juda in check the final 2 2-3 innings to pick up the win. He struck out four.

Sam Searls took the loss for the Cardinals, going six innings and allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits. He walked two and struck out five.

First baseman Pinnow had two of the Cardinals’ five hits.

    • NORTH BOONE 10, WINNEBAGO 3: Eli Lopez had three hits at the top of the lineup and Chris Doetch had a home run and three RBIs in the middle of the order as the Vikings (17-8) routed host Winnebago.

Lopez went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a run scored and an RBI. Doetch was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and his three ribbies and Owen Meredith was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.

Winnebago scored first off Gage Vermett in the first inning, but he threw four scoreless innings after that, walking one and fanning eight. Ben Neri pitched a scoreless sixth and Brandon Slater was touched for two runs in the seventh. Both Vikings had two strikeouts.

    • CLINTON 5, BIG FOOT 0: A one-run single in the first inning off the bat of Gavin Wesling proved to be all the Cougars needed as Tim Arnold pitched a gem in the RVC Rock victory.

Hosting Big Foot (3-7, 5-9) were limited to five hits, none of those of the extra-base variety, as Arnold struck out nine and walked none in seven innings.

Clinton (6-6, 3-5) scored three runs in the seventh. Wesling finished 3-for-4 with a run and two RBI from the plate while Logan Hendricks hit two doubles.

Five different batters scattered singles for the Chiefs. Connor Weeks allowed two earned runs on seven hits with 10 strikeouts in six innings.
