Alliance Academy of Dance to perform 'Cinderella' ballet on May 11

POCATELLO — The Alliance Academy of Dance will perform the “Cinderella” ballet on May 11 in Pocatello.

This is the fourth time the dance academy has performed the ballet since Sergiu Brindusa and Beth Moore first came to Pocatello in 2005.

Brindusa and Moore performed the parts of Prince Charming and Cinderella, respectively, during their first two productions of the ballet. This time, they will be playing the parts of the wicked stepmother and ballet masters.

According to an Alliance Academy of Dance news release, there will be two ballet dancers performing the part of Cinderella on May 11. One will be Elena Freile during the earlier performance and the other will be Grace Friedley during the later performance.

“The two young, promising and talented dancers promise to delight audiences and both have bright futures ahead of them,” Moore said in the news release.

The part of Prince Charming will be performed by guest artist, Jordan Strang. According to the news release, he is the same dancer who performed in the academy’s last production of “The Nutcracker.”

Moore said in the news release that the academy’s performance of “Cinderella” is sure to be both touching and entertaining to everyone who sees it.

“Audiences can look forward to watching the incredible display of award-winning talent that is produced locally,” she said in the news release.

According to the news release, the performances of “Cinderella” will take place at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on May 11. Both performances will be held in Frazier Hall on Idaho State University’s Pocatello campus.
