Police responding to reports of suspected pipe bomb at Fremont gas station
FREMONT, Ind. (WPTA) - A wanted fugitive out of Michigan has been apprehended in Fremont after a suspected pipe bomb was seen on his motorcycle, radio station WLKI reports. Police said the man was followed into Indiana on unrelated warrants, the radio station reports. He eventually ended up at the Eagles One Stop where it was noticed that his motorcycle had what appeared to be a pipe bomb attached to it.
Hillsdale County fugitive caught in Indiana
FREMONT, IND. — A Litchfield Township man wanted on a number of weapons and narcotics offenses for an incident in April was followed by law enforcement Tuesday, May 14, from Ray, Michigan, into Indiana where he was arrested by authorities who reported finding him in possession of a pipe bomb.
Edgerton man indicted on 11 drug-related charges in Williams County court
BRYAN — A Williams County grand jury here has returned 11 charges against an Edgerton man who was found in possession of large amounts of narcotics during a recent investigation by the Multi-Area arcotics Unit. Peter Moses, 47, is charged with five counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs, first- and second-degree felonies, including one charge with a major drug offender specification; four counts of possession of drugs, first- and second-degree felonies; trafficking in cocaine, a first-degree felony; and possession of cocaine, a first-degree felony. Several specifications are included in the indictment which include the possibility of the forfeiture of money and an automobile that were seized following the months-long investigation. Authorities seized 26 1/2 ounces of methamphetamine and about two ounces of cocaine during a search of Moses’ residence on May 1.

While the man has a past in Garrett, Indiana, he seems to have lived a transient lifestyle an has been convicted of several more violent crimes throughout the U.S. This wasn’t his first instance of violence against law enforcement either.

Lewis A. Jackson (1912-1994)
Lewis A. Jackson was a Black aviator, Tuskegee Airman Instructor, and later an HCBU president. Jackson was born on December 29, 1912, to unnamed parents in Angola, Indiana. At eight, Jackson started working to contribute to his family’s income. He also constructed model airplanes and read about crosswind landings in encyclopedias. In 1927, at the age of 15, he had his first flight in an OX5 Swallow. In 1929, Jackson designed and flew how to own hang gliders, biplanes, and monoplanes.
High School Softball: Leo tops DeKalb to claim NE8 title
LEO-CEDARVILLE, Ind. (WFFT) — The Leo softball team claimed the Northeast 8 conference title outright on Monday with a 7-1 victory over DeKalb. Madyn Mohr, Lillian Pierce, Summer McDougall-Gerig and Kristian Bond each had an RBI in the win for the Lions, who claim their second NE8 title in the past three seasons.
