STURGIS — Bourbon, Bacon and Blues returns Friday to downtown Sturgis, with food, music and bourbon sampling. The festival will take place from 5:30 to 10 p.m. in the Sturgis social district. Food trucks featuring bacon-themed dishes will also be on hand. Bourbon tasting from various businesses will be offered, as well as a selection of beer and mixed drinks.
Sturgis kids honored by Kiwanis
The Sturgis Kiwanis Club’s annual “Knowledge is Dynamite” program was held recently at the Sturges-Young Auditorium. A group of eight Sturgis fourth-graders from Eastwood Elementary School were honored by the club for outstanding achievement and growth during the 2023-24 school year. Each student was selected by their teacher and received a special certificate, T-shirt and pencil bundle from Kiwanis. They also took part in a buffet lunch with their parents and other family members, Eastwood Principal Mike Miller and the teacher who nominated them.
