The shooting occurred outside a condo complex in the area of Twinbridge Circle near Longbrook Way. Peter Popovich, 63, a cannabis delivery driver and Pleasant Hill resident, was reportedly targeted for robbery by Trevon Davis, 21, of San Pablo and at least one other suspect.

Popovich was armed at the time and an exchange of gunfire occurred. Davis and Popovich both suffered multiple gunshot wounds and were taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek.

Popovich was pronounced deceased a short while later. Davis succumbed to his injuries the following day.

Washington and Green have been booked into Contra Costa County Jail in Martinez.

The investigation into the homicide remains active, police said. Pleasant Hill PD is continuing to speak with witnesses and gather evidence in the case.
