NETTLETON – An early four-run cushion was more than enough for Carson Norwood. The senior sidearmer tossed six shutout innings, and East Webster cruised past Nettleton 13-0 on Monday night to sweep their Class 3A quarterfinal baseball series.

The senior sidearmer tossed six shutout innings, and the Wolverines (26-3) cruised past Nettleton 13-0 last Monday night to sweep their Class 3A quarterfinal baseball series. East Webster will face Mooreville in the North finals.
Mantachie tops Booneville, advances to North half final
MANTACHIE – A battle of familiar opponents on Monday night came with far more at stake than either of their past four meetings. In the end, the home team kept level heads. Mantachie used a pair of late runs to beat Booneville 2-0 in Game 3 of their Class 3A third-round series.
Streich dominant as Myrtle advances past Smithville
MYRTLE – Myrtle’s Brooklyn Streich was in the zone from start to finish Monday evening. Streich allowed only one run and went the distance in the circle in a 5-1 win for Myrtle in Game 3 to advance the Hawks past Smithville. Myrtle will face Pine Grove in the Class 1A North half finals.
Mooreville baseball looking to take the next step in semifinals
Mooreville baseball is set to take on East Webster in the 3A North Half Championship. The Troopers are in familiar territory, they made it to this stage last season but were defeated by the eventual state champion West Lauderdale. Mooreville to use last season’s disappointment as motivation this year.
