    Wayland Baptist University to hold commencement ceremony on Saturday

    PLAINVIEW, Texas — On Saturday, ninety-eight Wayland Baptist University students were set to participate in commencement ceremonies at 2 p.m. at the Hutchinson Center on the university’s campus.

    Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Cindy McClenagan will present the candidates for degrees to Dr. Bobby Hall, Prescient, who will confer degrees, said a press release from Wayland Baptist University. Additionally, Dr. Hall will be assisted by Mark Jones, chair of Wayland’s Board of Trustees.

    Graduating senior, Luke J. Brockway was scheduled to give the student address and Dylan Lee Jerden will read Philippians 1:6 from the Bible.

    Bart Reagor’s motion to reduce prison sentence denied

    According to the release, prayers will be offered by Paten Czarina Denton and Aubrey Jaramillo.

    Candidates graduating include seven students to receive doctoral degrees. 17 students are set to receive their master’s and 74 students plan to receive bachelor’s degrees.

    The release said 66 candidates graduating are from Texas, 12 are from Plainview. Among the candidates are 16 students from 14 other states and one student from American Samoa.
