For 2026, the Queen was Bella Haener, and the King was Coleman Barton. Haener stated, “I’m proud to win homecoming queen because I’ve been a part of the rocky and student council and been a big part of rocky. I’ve been in leadership all four years of high school, and I’ve been on the homecoming court also all four years of high school. Because of that, it makes me even more proud that I was able to win this year.”

Meridian gets revenge on rival to continue bounce-back season
MERIDIAN — The two meetings between Mountain View and Meridian last year weren’t close. The Mavericks posted nearly 100 points combined and shut out the Warriors in both matchups. It was a much different story in this year’s clash. The two West Ada School District rivals met at Mountain View High on Friday where Meridian shut down the Mavericks for most of the night. Mountain View hardly sustained any drives as the Warriors continued their bounce-back campaign. Meridian defeated the Mavericks 21-14 to move to 5-2, matching its win total from the last two years combined. In his first year as head coach with the school after moving over from Capital, Kevin Hastin has helped lead the program back in a winning direction. Before 2024, the Warriors had not had a losing record since 2019. “The culture just changed,” Meridian linebacker Leo Klinger said about the team’s turnaround this season. “He came in, turned the program around and everyone is here for it.
