PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Allegations of inappropriate conduct at Miss Hall’s School in Pittsfield have expanded following a statement from the Berkshire DA’s Office, urging victims to come forward.

    Pittsfield teacher accused of grooming

Matthew Rutledge , 62, taught at Miss Hall’s School for more than 30 years. He was placed on administrative leave on March 27th and resigned a few days later amid accusations that he groomed several students.

This was after a former student reported him to the school for allegedly sexually abusing and exploiting her while she was a student and after graduating. Two other women have since come forward with similar claims.

In light of these developments, the Berkshire County District Attorney’s Office issued a statement urging individuals who believe they were victims, witnesses, or possess relevant information to come forward. They directed those with information to contact the Pittsfield Police Department Detective Bureau at (413) 448-9706 and provide their name and a call-back phone number.
