Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Darnell Washington.

The Steelers selected tight end Darnell Washington in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft to play a versatile role in their offense.

The Georgia product has the ability to be a red-zone threat and serve as an extra offensive lineman thanks to his huge frame.

During the second day of Pittsburgh's OTAs, Washington was seen dabbing up undrafted rookie QB John Rhys Plumlee, and it proves just how massive he is.

Washington, who is listed at 6-foot-7, 264 pounds, towers over Plumlee, who is listed at 6-foot, 200 pounds. It just goes to show the difference between a top-100 selection and an undrafted player.

This isn't to say Plumlee can't make the team, but it will be an uphill battle as he joins a quarterback room that already includes Russell Wilson, Justin Fields and Kyle Allen.

As for Washington, he's looking to take his game to another level heading into his second season.

In 2023, he only had seven catches for 61 yards and zero touchdowns as he was primarily used as a blocker.

It's safe to say the Steelers will continue using him as such, but why not see what more he can offer in the passing game with a size unlike many others?
