Pittsburg students build dog houses for SEK Humane Society

PITTSBURG Kan. (KOAM) -- Pittsburg Middle schoolers create dog houses to be raffled off at the Pittsburg ArtWalk.

According to the SEK Humane Society, the students built three dog houses as a way to help raise money for the animal shelter.

The dog houses will be shown at the Pittsburg ArtWalk on April 26, at the start of 4th Street. Raffle tickets will be $1.00.

"We want to give a huge shoutout of appreciation to these kids and their teachers; this is such a creative way to not only raise funds for our shelter but to also help provide a home for a dog in need to our community!" says the SEK Humane Society via Facebook.

The shelter says each house will come with a free bag of dog food and treats.
