TERRY, Miss. — Five Terry track athletes made their college commitments official Friday to run on the next level. Terry's lone first place state finisher Jaston Williams (400M, Hinds CC) and and its first Division One signee in a decade Cayden Fluellen (Mississippi Valley State) join Natalie Black and Julius Phillips (Belhaven), Jayden Porter (Rust college) and Nick Rogers (Coahoma CC).
Fundraiser started for Mississippi E-911 dispatcher, family who lost home to recent storms
Funds are being raised for a Mississippi E-911 dispatcher whose family suffered severe storm damage while she was helping save other lives and property. A GoFundMe account was started Monday for the Delaughter family in Lawrence County. By Tuesday at noon the fundraising efforts had reached $2,825 in donations with a goal of $20,000.

At 0618 on May 13, 2024, an 18 wheeler fire @ the Love’s Truck Stop was reported. Magee Fire responded with 3 units & 14 personnel. Upon arrival, found a tractor/trailer well involved under the diesel fuel canopy. The tractor and two adjoining full pumps were under heavy flames impingement. A near-by tractor trailer was an exposure issue (being threatened by the flames). The fuel pumps were shut off at the emergency fuel stop switch.
