A fun celebration was held for the Woman's Club of Lincoln's 100th anniversary on April 8, exactly 100 years to the date of the first meeting. Construction of the Woman's Club building began in late 1923 and was completed in January 1924. The first meeting of the Woman's Club of Lincoln was held April 8, 1924, in their "dream" clubhouse. It was a fitting tribute to the many hours of work by this ambitious group of women.

Auburn Hammond House placed on Placer historic register
One of the historic Hammond houses was placed on Placer County’s Register of Cultural and Historic Resources during the Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday. Kally Kedinger-Cecil, senior planner for Placer County, shared the home, referred to as Hammond House #1, was built in 1927 by Lester Hammond Sr., who learned masonry skills while waiting to come home after serving in World War I, and constructed with railroad ties and later faced with rock. To build the home, located at 460 Old Airport Road in Auburn, Hammond sourced materials from local mines.
Small El Dorado County community pushes back against proposed facilities
RESCUE — A nonprofit developer wants to build two facilities to help Native American Women with disabilities and youth who are pregnant in rural El Dorado County. Residents in the community of Rescue have expressed multiple concerns since learning about the project last year. "What we're really concerned about is the patient experience. This location is not a good location for this type of facility," Chris Silva, Rescue resident, said.
