Pierz City Council Briefs

On April 22, the Pierz City Council:

• Approved a small accessory structure permit for Danielle Miller, two concrete permits for Richard Henry and Rodney Boser and two fence permits for Donald Gilson and ISD #484;

• Donated $400 to the Pierz Legion Park Board for improving and maintaining the Hellie baseball field;

• Donated up to $100 to the Pierz Public Library for the purchase of two floor mats to be placed under two desks;

• Invested $23,262 in an EDA loan toward Waves and Woods Realty at a maximum term of 10 years with an interest rate of 5.1%;

• Hired three employees for the Pierz Golf Course clubhouse at a rate of $13 per hour contingent upon them passing background checks; and

• Approved retroactively paying City Clerk and Interim Treasurer Sarah Fyten for half the salary of a full-time treasurer since Fyten took on the responsibilities of city treasurer in January and moving forward until a full-time city treasurer is hired.

The next meeting of the Pierz City Council is Monday, May 13 at 7 p.m. in City Hall’s Council Chambers.
