Freeport Middle School students bury 50-year time capsule
FREEPORT (WGME) – Some kids in Freeport are hoping to make history. Seventh graders from Freeport Middle School buried a time capsule in Memorial Park Friday. They included items such as a COVID test, photos of their class, Friday's newspaper, which features former President Donald Trump's guilty verdict on the front page, and a list of endangered species.

Widespread “bravo” to many for the lead story in the May edition of the Harpswell Anchor. First of all, to J.W. Oliver for writing from a neutral perspective, something lost in journalism these days. Next to Al LeGrow, who took responsibility for the committee’s outcome on the Harpswell Comprehensive Plan with the promise to go back to the drawing board until they get it right. And finally, to everyone cited in the article who publicly stood up to express their opposition.

Woolwich holds 121st Memorial Day service
Woolwich marked Memorial Day with its 121th Service of Remembrance Monday evening, May 27, with First Baptist Church on Middle Road hosting the event. At 7 p.m., Rev. Tom Tuck, pastor of First Baptist Church, welcomed guests gathered in the sanctuary with a short prayer of thanks to the countless men and women who have died or shed blood serving in our country’s armed forces. Following a hymn, Rev. David Ouellette of North Woolwich Methodist Church gave a scripture reading from Galatians 5:13-25.
